MCA From JNU

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), this one of the prestigious universities in India and situated at the heart of New Delhi. Various courses are being offered in this university under different categories like School of information technology, school of bio technology, school of environmental sciences, school of computer and system sciences, etc… MCA program is offered under the school of computer and system sciences. JNU selects an average of 30 students every year for the MCA program and these 30 students are being selected from nearly 12000 students appearing for the entrance examination conducted by the university.

Eligibility criteria:

The students applying for MCA program in JNU should have completed a graduation from any of the recognized universities or colleges and he/she should be a graduate under 10+2+3 pattern of any discipline. The student should have taken mathematics as a subject in their graduation level and they should also have secured an aggregate of not less than 55% of marks. Apart from this, the students should also secure more than cut-off marks in the entrance exam conducted by the university.

Course details and Fees:

Some subjects like algorithms, software engineering, database management systems and mathematical foundations of computer science are compulsory subjects in the third and fourth semester of the MCA course and apart from the compulsory papers, some elective papers like computer graphics, artificial intelligence, computer construction, etc… are being offered to the students. The course consists of six semesters and in the final semester the students will be required to take up industrial projects. Tentative dates:

The Jawaharlal Nehru University generally issue the application form until the middle of March and the students will be required to submit the applications before the end of March. The entrance exam will be conducted at the middle of May and the results will be declared in the first week of July. Once the student gets selected in the entrance exam, he will be required to attend a Viva-voce conducted by the university and the date for the same will be intimated to the student. Generally, the above-mentioned schedule is being followed by the university and this might be changed time to time.
