DU MCA Eligibility
The Delhi University has more than 80 colleges under its umbrella and it is better known as DU and the university is ranked as one of the best universities in the world. The university was established in the year 1922 with just three colleges and now it has developed to more than 80 colleges. Different courses are being offered by the DU and doing MCA course in DU will be an added advantage for the candidates in getting jobs in top companies.
Delhi University admits students for the MCA program on the basis of the marks secured by them in the Joint admission test (JAM) conducted at IIT, Kharagpur. For admission into the MCA program the candidate have passed the +2 examination and the degree courses with a minimum aggregate of 60% of the marks (55% in the case of SC/ST candidates) and they must have taken computer science and mathematics as a subject at their degree level. One more eligibility criteria for MCA course in Delhi University is that the student should have completed 20 years of age before the 1st of October of the year of the exam. However, the age limit can be relaxed on the basis of the individual merit on written request to the Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Students getting through the entrance test and other procedures will be required to attend counseling and the date of counseling will be intimated to the selected students. At the time of counseling, the students will be required to fill in the application form for admission and the student will be required to submit a demand draft for Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favor of the registrar, University of Delhi.
The Entrance exam will be based on subjects like mathematical and quantitative ability test, logical and deductive ability test. The mathematical and quantitative ability will have 50 objective type questions and this should be completed within 75 minutes and the logical and deductive ability test will have 50 questions and this should be completed within 60 minutes.
